Mia Bacic is a partner of the firm, practicing corporate and securities law for more than 10 years. She regularly assists clients in all aspects of corporate and securities law matters, including the securities regulatory and stock exchange compliance and corporate governance, and represents public companies, mid-market businesses and smaller entrepreneurial operators, as well as private equity and other investment funds. Her practice encompasses a wide range of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, share and asset sales, joint ventures, equity and debt financings of public and private entities, and private equity and venture capital financings. She represents clients in various industries, including life sciences, technology, renewable energy and mining. She also acts for both lenders and borrowers in secured lending transactions, institutional investors in equity and debt financings, and private equity and other investment funds in fund formations and investments.
Ms. Bacic is recognized as a leading practitioner in the Eighth, Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Editions of Best Lawyers in Canada in the practice area of corporate law. She has lectured for the Law Society of British Columbia Professional Legal Training Course and for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia on corporate law matters.
Ms. Bacic obtained her LL.B. from the University of British Columbia in 2002 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2003. Ms. Bacic also holds a civil law degree obtained from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1993. She is a member of the Securities Law, Business Law and Banking Law subsections of the Canadian Bar Association.
