Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation
Asset Purchase

We acted for the Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation (“CBBC”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Columbia Basin Trust, in its acquisition of assets to expand broadband network connectivity service in a number of communities spread out over the Columbia Basin region.

In September 2011, CBBC purchased the current business of the Columbia Mountain Open Network (“CMON”), including the existing contracts, goodwill and technical know-how used in connection with the business. The acquisition of CMON provided CBBC with the presence of an established local organization and the initial broadband infrastructure necessary to achieve its connectivity goals.

In October 2011, CBBC further expanded its asset base by purchasing certain equipment assets from Nanofibre Networks Inc. This acquisition provided CBBC with additional network equipment to supplement the CMON assets and move forward with its regional broadband strategy.
